Prayer at the Kitchen Sink
Prayer to God is the most important part of my day. Through my conversations with Him I find the strength to carry me through my day. This strength is not just physical, but emotional as well. I know most of my battles begin in my mind......with my thoughts. So when a fearful or worrisome thought flashes across my mind like lightening I draw from that "living water"; the "bread of life" that keeps me going when I feel like dropping. It may sound complicated, but it is so simple! As I lean on my heavenly Father throughout the day He carries me. He makes me feel loved in my spirit when no one is loving me in the flesh. I couldn't make it one second without Him. The really funny thing about this is that most of my prayer time is spent while I am cleaning my kitchen and/or preparing food. I love to pray while I am standing at the sink washing dishes. Well ok, I know lots of people hate to wash dishes, but I actually enjoy getting things squeaky clean . It seems to be so appropriate since the warm clean water is so relaxing and cleansing and the food I am preparing for my family is what sustains us throughout the day! It reminds me of the living water and the bread of life. Jesus told the woman at the well that He could give her "living water",,,,,,, " but whoever drinks of the water that I shall give him will never thirst. But the water that I shall give him will become in him a fountain of water springing up into everlasting life.” Jn.4:14 How amazing is that? He also says “I am the bread of life. He who comes to Me shall never hunger, and he who believes in Me shall never thirst." Jn. 6:35 Yes, I am continually amazed that He loves me and that He is all I need. God sent His Son to be our Savior and I am forever thankful.
